One of our favorite things to blog about is our athletes. They make our gym the awesome place that it is, with each member adding their own flair to our unique community.
We had the opportunity to chat with Ken and find out a little about why he chose CrossFit and what keeps him coming to the gym with his busy schedule.

What made you decide to try CrossFit?
My wife tried it and suggested I try it.
Why do you do CrossFit at our gym?
I know people that work out there and really enjoy the family-like atmosphere.
What were you most afraid of when you first joined our gym?
I had never done CrossFit before and was not sure what to expect.
What were you looking for in a gym?
A place to get a good workout, knowledgeable coaches, and a friendly atmosphere.
What one thing got you to take the initial leap and sign up?
The need to get back in shape.
What were your primary goals when you first started?
Get back into shape, weight loss, and strengthen my knee.
What was your biggest challenge keeping you from achieving those goals?
Time and motivation!
Did you try anything in the past to achieve your goals that didn’t work?
No, I didn’t.
What are your goals now?
Maintain a healthy lifestyle, improve each workout, and have fun.
How do you feel CrossFit Artifact is helping you reach your goals?
The different workouts and the camaraderie!
What is your favorite thing about CrossFit Artifact?
The workouts are fun and the atmosphere is great.
What is your favorite lift?
Back squat!
What has been your favorite workout?
The Hero workouts we’ve done.
What was the most rewarding moment you’ve experienced at the gym?
Being able to run again without all the pain from my knee
What would you tell someone who was considering coming to class but felt nervous?
Get up and try it. The workouts are easily adjusted to your ability. You’ll have great coaches and you will meet great people!
